Google campaign presents a humorous series of five ads and none have understood the perfect Google algorithm for their sense of humour. The initial ad, titled “Plateau,” depicts a friendly conversation between the two smartphones. The iPhone 14 Pro confesses that things have changed for it since “turning 14.” Speaking in a Siri-like voice, the iPhone expresses its envy of the Pixel 7 Pro’s cool features, such as astrophotography mode, call assist, 30x zoom, and more. It nostalgically recalls its glory days, when it used to be “the best lighter at a concert for over a decade.” Uncertain about which mobile device to choose? The Pixel 7 Pro offers to enhance the iPhone’s photos using its AI-powered tools, ensuring that “no one has to know.” Unfortunately, we never hear the end of the iPhone 14 Pro’s speech, as its battery dies and it collapses. The entire Google Ad campaign is filled with witty one-liners and subtle jabs at the iPhone. At one point, the iPhone 14 Pro admits, “After all these years, all I have to show is a blue bubble,” referring to Apple’s blue text boxes in iMessage, while Android users have green bubbles instead.

The second Google Ad campaign focuses on the Pixel 7 Pro’s impressive astrophotography capabilities. The two smartphone buddies are shown lying on the ground, marveling at the stars. The Pixel 7 Pro reveals to the iPhone that there are thousands of stars in the sky, surprising the iPhone 14 Pro, implying that it cannot see as many stars due to the lack of astrophotography mode. The ad concludes with the iPhone hopelessly attempting to capture the sky with its flash on, claiming that the “Night Sight” will help.

The third ad highlights the Pixel 7 Pro’s built-in VPN access. As the iPhone 14 Pro begins to panic, sensing potential hackers on the public Wi-Fi they are using, the Pixel 7 Pro calmly states that it will activate its VPN for secure browsing. The iPhone attempts to find a VPN as well but can only find paid applications. Ultimately, it resorts to turning on airplane mode.

The fourth Google Ad campaign portrays a heartwarming scene as the iPhone’s battery runs out while binge-watching a show about a friendly soccer coach (Ted Lasso). Coming to the rescue, the Pixel 7 Pro utilizes its reverse charging function to revive the grateful iPhone 14 Pro.

In the final ad of the series, the iPhone wonders if there is anything new in the world that is larger than anything they have encountered. The Pixel responds by asking if the iPhone 14 Pro has noticed anything new about itself. As the iPhone inquires about it, the Pixel opens up and reveals its true form as the Pixel Fold, leaving the iPhone 14 Pro astonished. The iPhone momentarily faints from the surprise but quickly regains consciousness. Both devices then enjoy playing games on the Pixel Fold’s expansive display, showcasing its impressive size and innovation.

This five-ad series by Google, aptly named “Best Phones Forever,” brings humor and friendly rivalry to the forefront as the Pixel 7 Pro confidently showcases its superiority over the iPhone 14 Pro. With clever dialogue, hilarious one-liners, and subtle digs at the iPhone, Google’s ad campaign succeeds in capturing viewers’ attention and highlighting the unique features of the Pixel 7 Pro. One of the major Google algorithms in marketing their products as major smartphone brands continue to engage in playful banter through their advertisements, consumers are left entertained and eagerly awaiting the next chapter of innovation in the ever-evolving world of mobile devices.
